About Prism Hardscapes

Visionary Design.
Enduring Craft.

A California design house that designs, casts, and hand-finishes every fire feature, planter, and modular kitchen element in its own facility.

Our Story

Built around a simple idea: craftsmanship at every stage.

Prism Hardscapes was founded on the belief that outdoor living products should be designed, made, and finished with the same care as the architecture they live among. From the first concept sketch to the final patina pass, our craftspeople touch every Prism piece by hand. There is no anonymous offshore line; there is no “decorative” finish applied after the fact. Material, form, and surface are developed together — and the result is a product that ages the way good architecture is supposed to age.

Today our catalog includes handcrafted gas fire features in liquid propane and natural gas configurations, the Isola modular BBQ island system, pool-rated fire features in our Pool Collection, planters, propane tank enclosures, outdoor furniture, and the PH Ignite electronic ignition platform. Every product line shares the same casting facility, the same finish process, and the same standard of work.

How It's Made

From raw material to finished surface.

Every Prism fire feature is the product of a four-stage hand process. The work is unhurried and deliberate, because the surface variation that makes our finishes feel alive is exactly what mechanized production strips out.

Stage 01

Cast

Each piece begins as glass-fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) hand-poured into our proprietary molds. GFRC gives Prism products their strength-to-weight ratio and their ability to weather decades of outdoor exposure.

Stage 02

Cure & Sculpt

After demolding, every body is individually inspected, hand-sanded, and refined. Edges, lips, and burner cavities are hand-tuned by craftspeople who know each form intimately.

Stage 03

Patina

Our signature finish is applied by hand in multiple passes. The patina process is what gives Prism colors their depth and quiet variation — no two pieces are exactly identical, and every piece carries the mark of the hand that finished it.

Stage 04

Burner & Test

CSA-certified burner systems are integrated, and every gas product is fire-tested before it leaves the facility. Where supported, the PH Ignite electronic ignition platform is installed and validated at this stage.

Materials & Engineering

Made for real outdoor life.

The material story matters because outdoor furniture and fire features live a hard life. Prism specifies glass-fiber reinforced concrete because it carries the depth, scale, and surface character of cast stone with a fraction of the weight, and because it survives freeze-thaw cycles, intense sun, and coastal salt without the failure modes that plague conventional concrete and metal-clad products. Burner assemblies are CSA-certified for North American gas codes. Pool-rated finishes are tested against chlorinated and saltwater exposure. Hardware and fasteners are stainless or rated equivalent.

The point of all of this is durability you don't have to think about. A Prism fire pit installed today should look intentional, settled, and beautiful in twenty years — not weathered out of shape.

How to Buy

A dealer-network brand, by design.

Prism is sold exclusively through a curated network of authorized hardscape, pool, and outdoor-living dealers across the United States. We chose this model deliberately. Our products are technical — gas configuration, finish selection, and site planning matter. A great dealer makes those decisions correctly the first time, coordinates with your contractor or designer, and stands behind the install. Direct-to-consumer would be cheaper for us and worse for you.

If you're a homeowner, designer, or builder evaluating Prism for a project, the best first step is to locate your nearest authorized dealer. If you're a dealer interested in carrying Prism, please contact us for territory and onboarding information.
